Framtidsscanner – drömmar formar framtiden Mk2

2016

Dimension variable
3-channel video, 3 monitors, sound mixer and active speakers

Framtidsscanner – drömmar formar framtiden Mk2 was temporarily installed in Varberg's central shopping mall, during the summer 2016. It was the second and condensed version of the video installation produced during Artist Inside Out's artist in residence program, 2015-2016.

The project also featured three internet-based platforms, two of which aimed to facilitate discussion, encouraging the development of displayed dreams or the introduction of new ones.

Framtidsscanner is an artistic work where individuals have been invited to share their dreams about a future Varberg, with a focus on the construction of a new district in the harbour. The project is part of Art Inside Out's initiative, Kulturens roll i stadsutvecklingen (The Role of Culture in Urban Development), which was conducted in May 2016.

Artist Gustav Hellberg has brought together people's thoughts and narratives about the future development of the city, combining them with demographic statistics and the visionary ideas of the Dutch architectural group Temp.architecture.urbanism for a flexible approach to sustainable urban development.
